Our Old Drummer "Moose" Needs Your Help
Tue., Sep. 5. 2006 10:41pm EDT
We constantly have people asking us how things are going with our former drummer Bill "Moose" Rieger, who left ApologetiX in late October 2005 to spend more time with his wife and three kids and attend to some family medical matters.
We speak to man called Moose fairly frequently, and there have been some pretty good things happening for him lately, but we just found out Friday that he has a very pressing need and an urgent prayer request.
Bill's wife, Chris, has just been diagnosed with skin cancer. She has a squamous cell carcinoma on her temple which has doubled in size it the past two weeks and is now about the size of a dime. Her physician says she needs to see a dermatologist immediately to have it removed.
According to the physician, this type of skin cancer is the most treatable and the most curable, but it still needs to be treated before it gets worse. Unfortunately, Bill says that none of the 20 or so dermatologists he has contacted can fit Chris into their schedules for months, even though he's stressed to them the gravity of the situation.
Moose contacted us to ask for prayer, but we reminded him that we have a large network of very helpful and knowledgeable fans and friends who might be able to recommend a dermatologist who could see Chris quickly. Although a dermatologist in Pittsburgh or at least Western Pennsylvania is preferable, Moose is willing to travel if necessary.
Whoa! Here's some late-breaking news:
We first posted this story on Saturday before including it in this newsletter and you fans (and our Lord) have already come through! We just go this email from Moose:
Special thanks to the ApologetiX fans for the support, prayers and help. I now have an appointment on Wednesday the 13th for Chris. Next is prayer for accurate diagnosis and wisdom from the doctors involved. Thanks again.
Please pray for Chris, and if you wish to email Moose, you can do so at:
