Wanna Help the Band?
We're often asked if we accept donations. Yes we do. Like other ministries, we have many expenses. Although the donations aren't tax deductible, they are immediately put to good use. If you'd like to donate, thanks.

J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX here.
Author Ray Padgett says the power of Johnny Cash's final hit, "Hurt," comes from "his ability to project both vulnerability and resilience without trying to hide his age or ill health."
Projecting vulnerability and resilience is something I find myself having to do every couple months. I'll devote this preamble to vulnerability and the rest of the newsletter to resilience.
Of course, any resilience we have comes from God. The 24 testimonies we share in the articles below are not to boast, but to show what God is still choosing to do through this ministry.
I consider those testimonies to be true "vital signs," as opposed to finances. However, to quote Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:30, "If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness."
It's just over two months since our last appeal letter. That's about par for the course, but I don't send these appeals till we really need to. ApX has big bills coming due and is way behind in paying me.
Both Jimmy and Wayne had computer problems in the past two months, slowing our singles output, which decreased donations. But I think you'll find our next single well worth the wait.
If you'd like to help, there are different ways you can do so:
1. Pray (the most important thing)
2. Get singles, CDs, USBs, etc. at http://apologetix.com/store
3. Give online at http://apologetix.com/store/store-donate.php
4. Give by mail: ApologetiX, 208 Charlemma Dr., Pittsburgh PA 15214
Donations aren't tax deductible, but God uses them mightily. Please only give if you want to and are able. If you need prayer or encouragement, please email me at j@apologetix.com. Thank you!
Four Touching Testimonies We Had to Share May 10, 2018, 11:22 am EDT
Here are four touching testimonies we've received in the past two weeks (including one we shared last week) that show why we do what we do and why we believe we should keep doing it:You are a true example of trusting God's faithfulness. I've been listening to 'Expected to Love' and 'Talk Daily to Me.' They've been a real encouragement through a difficult time."

I have been a fan for years out here in California. Thank you for what you guys do; it has really helped with my walk.

Tough night tonight, unrelenting pain, but I'm able to make it a bit better by listening to some of your group's music.

God has used you to reach thousands of His saints and those that are lost. I went down many of the roads that you speak about in your parodies. I am now using your songs to wipe out the old lyrics and replace them with all the tremendous lessons that you are able to teach with your ministry. If it was not of Him, then it would have not lasted this long.

From an Oregon Pastor and Night Ranger's Sound Tech May 9, 2018, 8:22 pm EDT
We got a great email last Monday from a pastor in Oregon:This week I was going to put together a background track with my Korg Krome workstation for "I Went in the Stream." I have a gal to sing it with me, and it is a whole baptismal class in itself.
Before I do -- do you have a background track I could purchase of that song? Things are heating up here at the church in a good way, and I thought I would ask.
Let me know! And do you do USB updates for the USB that I have? You are writing stuff too fast!
Pastor John Baker

Molalla OR
P.S. One of our guys at church was a sound tech for Night Ranger - he really likes "Mister Christian." Me too! As we told Pastor John, we can't sell backing tracks, because they're not parodies without our lyrics, but you can find karaoke versions on iTunes of just about every song we've spoofed. We also let him know that we made another Night Ranger parody last year, "Don't Tell Me We're Lucky."
ApX Helps Reporter Recover from Tough Meetings May 9, 2018, 8:06 pm EDT
Here's an entertaining email from a longtime ApologetiX fan and friend who works for a Michigan newspaper:Been trying to keep up with commercial windmill ordinances at public hearings. A lot of angst at those meetings.
They sure did yell a lot; I'm not fond of yelling unless our football or hockey team is scoring. :)
Listening to ApologetiX music helps me stay alert and unwind the whole drive home. Thank you so much for putting so much food for thought into every song.
Your music continues to enrich our lives and keep us on track as Christians.

Hemlock MI So there you have it, ApX fans! If you're looking for a way to stay alert and unwind after a public hearing on commercial windmill ordinances, you know what to listen to on your CD player or MP3 player.
Encouragement from Abroad May 10, 2018, 10:20 am EDT
Here are some encouraging emails we've received in the last 30 days from outside the United States:
Thank you for your ministry. It's great the gift you have to play the way you play and to find lyrics that adapt to the original lyrics.

I have enjoyed your stuff for a number of years and have been involved with a community Christian radio station for a number of years. It operates on donations and volunteers, and, as such, I host and produce a show Saturday evenings called Revive. It's generally music from my collection, including ApologetiX. As a father of two kids I have appreciated your ministry.

Just a quick note to say that I am so thankful that God is working through you! I am currently reading through the Bible on a one-year plan. I have thought about doing this many times before, but I could not seem to get motivated. You mentioned several times that you continuously read through the Bible in a year. That really inspired me. I am currently on day 95. Time and time again you are a blessing to me, my wife and my son, because God uses you, because you love God.

Many thanks for all your work over the years. A few of us from the performing arts association I front are taking the morning service at two venues this month — one at my home church and the other, which will have a lot of non-church people in the audience. Your song about "Noah Man from Zebraic had been heard by me and this has led to us basing the morning around Noah. I shared this with the other performers for my home church, and they loved the idea after we had prayed about the event.

2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. |
