Encouraging Update on Our Friend Marty
Wed., Jun. 2. 2010 1:41am EDT
In last week's newsletter, we asked you to pray for our good friend, Marty Waite, who was already in the fourth and final stage of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and had suffered a heart attack the previous Friday. By the time you received that newsletter, we'd already gotten this very encouraging update from Marty's wife, Carrie:Marty was released from the hospital today and is home resting. The tests they ran this morning show that his heart has no visible damage from the heart attack. The cardiologist had to read the test twice because she couldn't believe there was no damage considering the severity of the attack.
We are grateful for all of your prayers and good wishes, clearly a miracle has occurred!
Marty has to stay pretty still for a week, basically not lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk. He will be recuperating for 3-4 weeks before a determination will be made regarding his return to work. Our local library has an extensive dvd collection and I guess we will be watching a few movies and catching up on some reading.
Again, we thank everyone for their kindness and words of encouragement.
Much love,
Carrie
