Former APX Keyboardist Survives Cancer Again
Thu., Oct. 1. 2015 6:57am EDT

ApologetiX alumnus keyboardist Todd Waites went through quite a harrowing experience earlier this year. He was already a cancer survivor; now he is a two-time cancer survivor. We asked him to fill you in on the details:

Most of you may not know this, but I was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in late December of 2014. As the result I had half of my thyroid removed just a couple of days before Christmas.

After losing my arm 32 years ago due to cancer, I never thought I'd ever go through it again so it was quite a shock. I was getting some other stuff checked out, and got a phone call out of nowhere the next day that neither my wife, Laura, or I expected.

After leaving ApologetiX (but they still put up with me recording for them!) to fulfill requests to do speaking/playing events, and really drilling in the message that God has a wonderful plan and purpose for EACH and EVERY one of us, I had to remind myself of the same thing. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever — which means his plan for me is much better than what I can even imagine.

I'm back out there speaking in schools, churches, etc. literally just this past month and have some dates set up in various parts of the country again. It took some time to heal in many ways (wow, getting thyroid meds regulated is much more difficult than ever imagined!) and I am just incredibly blessed.

Many people ask for a way to contact me, and I so appreciate it. My address is:

Todd Waites
1491 Polaris Parkway #70
Columbus, OH 43240

My email address is: britseth@aol.com

God's blessings on all of you, and see you soon!
Note: We've been in touch with Todd throughout the year, and he's even played on some of our recordings recently but had asked us to wait until now to share what was going on with him. We're glad to finally be able to let you know, and we're sure you rejoice with us that God brought Todd through his ordeal safely.
