We Need Help and Prayer (Bad Timing, Eh?)
Wed., Mar. 18. 2020 4:16pm EDT
J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX here.
What do global pandemics and appeal letters have in common? It's never a good time for either, and neither is ever a good time. But when the time comes, all you can do is put your hope in God.
Unfortunately for ApX, the time has come for both, when everybody out there is saving their hard-earned bread (and toilet paper) as they attempt to ride out the current crisis.
Unfortunately for ME, just as we're being told to stay in our homes as much as possible, I don't have the money to pay my mortgage. It's overdue. And the band's significantly behind in paying me again.
And that's just the biggest of the things I have coming due. Meanwhile, the band has other big expenses coming due (and some overdue), too.
Furthermore, I don't know how many people will get this letter. In the last several months, a number of internet service providers have started blocking our newsletter, so it's reaching fewer people than usual.
Ironically, many ApX members have extra time now (because their other jobs are on hold) and could be recording more, but I can't afford to pay them to do so. We do have some songs already in the works, though.
I know everybody receiving this email is affected by COVID-19, and I hate to trouble our fans with this. I have no specific expectations from anybody. I am merely making the needs known, and putting my hope in God.
