Some Bible Verses for This Week

J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX here again.
The first half of the Bible passage below was on my heart Friday, so I went and looked it up. I was surprised when I discovered that the second half of the passage was one of my favorite parts of the Bible. I'd forgotten they came back to back:
Isaiah 59:14-16
Justice is turned back,
And righteousness stands far away;
For truth has stumbled in the street,
And uprightness cannot enter.
Truth is lacking,
And one who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey.
Now the Lord saw,
And it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice.
And He saw that there was no one,
And was amazed that there was not one to intercede;
Then His own arm brought salvation to Him,
And His righteousness upheld Him.
Now, I believe that the main context of that passage is part of a Messianic prophecy fulfilled in Jesus Christ (as are many other things in the Book of Isaiah), but I also believe that God still ministers to us and instructs us through His Word today (2 Timothy 3:16). If you identify with the sentiment of the words in the first half of that passage Isaiah wrote, remember this: Our hope remains the same as his — the Lord.
Remember these passages, my friends:
1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
Luke 18:1
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
James 5:16
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Luke 11:9-10 (Amplified Version)
"So I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking [persistently], receives; and he who keeps on seeking [persistently], finds; and to him who keeps on knocking [persistently], the door will be opened."
Psalm 94:19
When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comfort delights my soul.
Psalm 37:8
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret — it leads only to evil.
Matthew 6:34
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
As the old saying goes, "I may not know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future."
